Guidance for Portfolio Development
General guidance for the weekly Portfolio Development component
The TY Programme Statement makes provision for all students to engage in portfolio development as part of their TY experience. The primary function of the Portfolio Development component is for students to reflect forward and backward, for example on goals, achievements, improvements, experiences, actions and decision-making.
Guidance for the accommodation of this component is a minimum of one class per week. Guided reflection, in a structured manner, is essential for students in TY as it helps them to consolidate learning, develop self-awareness and improve critical thinking skills as they engage in meaningful, enjoyable learning experiences throughout the year.
